Mission Center Mall

We took one final stroll through Mission Center this week. With only 4 retailers still open you can only imagine the emptiness inside the mall. Signage on the door upon entering the mall reads as follows:
"Mission Mall will be closing soon to be demolished for redevelopment.  Thank you for your past patronage of Mission Center."
We'll keep you posted on redevelopment. The new site plans include a mix of retail and residential space.

Jones Stores
In the fall of 2006 all Jones Stores will be renamed to Macy's.

Osco Drug
Later this year Osco Drug stores will be converted to CVS pharmacy.  Some Osco stores will not remain open if they are too close to a CVS pharmacy store.  The transaction is expected to be completed by this summer.  This will make CVS the largest drugstore marketplace in the Kansas City area followed by Walgreen.
